Types of Common and Deadly Diseases Carried By Norman Rodents

Do you hear some pitter-patter sound from your Norman attic? Probably some rodents have taken place there to live in groups. It is generally observed that being social creatures, rodents live in large colonies. Naturally, their presence can be more harmful to the residents as they keep on destroying everything around. It is not just about their chewing habits rather at the same time they also carry several harmful disease viruses that can be transferred to the pets and people around.

It is well observed that the presence of Oklahoma rodents in the human habitat has a direct impact on the health and well-being of the whole family. There are so many harmful diseases that are carried by rodents. The list is available below:

Hantavirus:

One of the most commonly found virus in cotton rat, white-footed mouse, and rice rat is Hantavirus. The terrible fact is that it is a life-threatening disease and there is no specific cure, treatment or vaccine for such medical health issue. Some of the most commonly observed symptoms of this virus are fatigue, fever, muscle aches in the thigh, hip and back area. Some people also report vomiting, nausea, and abdominal pain as well.

Lymphocytic Choriomeningitis Virus:

LCMV is another common disease carried by the Oklahoma house mouse. This disease has two common stages; in the first stage, a person can observe symptoms like vomiting, nausea, headaches, lack of appetite, and muscle aches as well. Whereas at the second stage, these creatures start feeling some neurological disturbances including the occurrence of meningoencephalitis, encephalitis, and meningitis.

Plague:

You might have gone through the Norman history of plaque, the most dangerous disease that killed millions of people years ago. Studies reveal that if you are living in a rodent affected house, the chances are that plaque is also living on your OKoor. It can get transferred fast to the humans living in the premises. Some of the most common types of plaque are pneumonic, septicemic and bubonic. Note that all of this plaque is generated from the same bacterium that is known as Yersinia Pestis. Different types of plaque are defined on the basis of how they react to your body, through the lungs, the immune system or the blood system. Once you start observing symptoms of plaque in your body, it is important to take immediate medical help. Otherwise, it can cause a potential threat to overall health and may cause death as well.

Salmonella:

Many Oklahoma rodents also carry the harmful bacteria names as salmonella. This bacterium can get transferred to your body if you make direct contact with the rodent waste or consume contaminated food. Some of the most common symptoms of this disease include fever, chills, abdominal cramps, vomiting, nausea, and diarrhea.

Tularemia:

This disease is caused by Francisella tularenis bacterium that is commonly found in Norman hares, rabbits, and rodents as well. This disease can get transferred to humans via a OKy bite or while handling the infected animals. It is important to wear protective clothes and thick gloves while dealing with rodent infestation in the house.
