Norman Wildlife and Animal Removal

Pest Animal Removal Norman - Wildlife Control

Welcome to Pest Animal Removal Norman! We are a wildlife removal company servicing Norman, OK. We are proud to have been voted the #1 wildlife company in the city for the third year in a row, and from the moment we take your call we will work hard to try and maintain that reputation. Our friendly agents are knowledgeable and can offer advice on the steps you can take for free, while they can also give you an idea of the steps that we would usually take and offer an indication of the cost. Depending on your situation, they can arrange for an emergency call-out, but we always try to get one of our technicians to you before the end of the next day, or at a time that suits you. Our team is trained to handle all mammals and reptiles that are likely to cause issues in the city, but as we aren’t exterminators, we won’t usually deal with insects or use poisons in our work. For many species, we can use exclusion methods to get the animals out, and to stop them from coming back, while other animals may require the use of traps so they can be caught and removed. Your technician can also give you details of our cleaning and sanitization service once the animals have been dealt with, while they can also carry out building-grade repairs where the animals have caused some damage. Call us now at 405-252-5430 for your Norman wildlife control needs.

Norman Wildlife Removal Tip of the Month: Systematic Guide in Creating an Effective Oklahoma Snake Trap for All Your Unwanted Visitors

There is absolutely nothing that can prepare you for the attack of the Norman snake. You may be shocked one day that a snake is slithering in your yard. While most of the snake will not lurk near our property, there are still some cases when the snake will choose to stay especially if there are elements that are attracting their attention to our yard.

How to Create a Snake Trap

Once you notice the signs of snake activities in your Oklahoma property, you will have to look for ways to get rid of them. If you do not know how to identify venomous from a non-venomous snake, it is advisable to let the professionals handle this. However, if you are confident in your abilities, you can capture them using these homemade snake traps.

Bottle Trap

You should be careful in using this method since there is no guarantee that you will be successful in capturing the snake. There is also a possibility that you will capture other species of snake. You will have to prepare a regular plastic bottle. You will also need scissors and bait preferably a frozen mouse. The smell of the rodent will be difficult for the snake to resist.

  • Be sure that the plastic bottle has been thoroughly cleaned. You do not want the smell of any residue to distract the snake.
  • Create a tiny hole on the bottle using your scissors. The diameter of the hole should only be enough for the snake to enter the hole.
  • Put your Oklahoma bait in the bottle
  • Place the trap in the area where you suspect that the snake is hiding.
  • Wait for the Norman snake to enter the trap and eat the bait. Once it does, you can retrieve the bottle and place it in a more secure place.

  • Wooden Box Trap

Creating this tap is a bit complex compared to the bottle trap. This is ideal to use on wild and larger Oklahoma snakes that you found in your yard. Simply place the trap at the entry hole of the snake.  The snake will be lured inside the wooden trap. Once the creature enters the trap, the trigger will be activated trapping the snake inside. After this, you may now carry the box and release the snake into a safer location.  In case you are not confident in building a wooden trap, you can always find a commercially available trap at your local garden shop.

Once you successfully trapped the Norman snake, you should already know what to do with it. Never touch the snake since it will be agitated when it is inside the trap. The best way to deal with a trapped snake is to relocate it. Snakes are clever creature and can look for a place where they can survive. You should also release them in the place where they will not cause any trouble. You can also surrender the snake to your local wildlife center or ask the wildlife removal company to handle your problem.
